TNNA's new 2011 – 2012 Board of Directors officially took office on October 1.
The Board welcomes new members, Sharon Crescent (Crescent Colours, AZ) and Beth Casey (Lorna's Laces, IL) as Yarn Group Chair. Re-elected to a second term is Matt Bryant (Prism Arts, Inc., FL).
With recognition of support and service, the board also said good-bye to outgoing member, Jim Collingham (Lee's Needle Art/Colonial Needle Co.).
Joel Woodcock (Lantern Moon, OR), newly elected president, takes on the leadership of the organization, with Sharon Garmize (Sharon G, PA) as Vice President, and Karen Rumpza (Needlework Unlimited Presents, MN) as Secretary/Treasurer. Matt Bryant (Prism Arts, Inc., FL) continues on as Past President.
Product Segment Group Chairs also serve on the board. They include Warren "Pete” Poitras (JP Needlepoint, CA) Needlepoint Group, Beth Casey (Lorna's Laces, IL) Yarn Group and Debbie Rowley (DebBee's Designs, AR) Counted Thread & Embroidery Group. With the addition of the Spinning & Weaving Group, Dave Van Stralen (Louet North America, NY) is the Group Chair.
Also serving on the Board are Penny Franz (Ewe Count, WY) Retail Council Representative, Dale Lenci (DJ Designs, CA), Kirstin Muench (Muench Yarns, Inc., CA), Hal Ozbelli (Universal Yarn, Inc. NC) and Dave Stott (Norden Crafts, Ltd., IL).
The makeup of the board includes nine wholesale members, as well as the chairs of each product segment group and of the Retail Council, the governing committee for the Retail Member Section.
The Retail Council includes: Penny Franz — Chair & Board Representative (Ewe Count, WY), Dona Zimmerman – Vice Chair (The Web-Sters, Inc., OR), Karen Aho — Secretary/Treasurer (Acorn Street Shop, WA), Debra Koch (Stitches N Things, MI), Roberta (Bobbi) Kreb (Amazing Threads, Inc.), Lori Mazza (Waste Knot Needlepoint, VA), and Randi Nelson (The World in Stitches, MA).
This Council is charged with overseeing the association's activities pertaining to education and retail communications.
